The way you get a dolphin to your hoop is not to just teach it to go to the hoop but to teach it to, you know, first bump the hoop with its nose and then to put its nose slightly more through the hoop. Gary: The idea of focusing on the behavior that I do want instead of on trying to get rid of some behavior that I don't want. That makes a lot of sense. And that seems like it's just an application of shaping from upper condition Gary, right?
