Is There an Opportunity to Negotiate?

When i was a hiring manager of engineers, we definitely thought that the engineers who could negotiate well were an asset. We felt like their ability to persuade and think through and have city and know what they wanted,. Those were the kind of people we wanted at our company. I'd like to turn now to the other time you mention, when we will be negotiating. But what does your experience show? Most people are aware that there's an annual opportunity to, if not discuss compensation, to adjust it.
