Episode 24: Vibrations and Waves
The Science of Everything Podcast
00:00
The Amplitude Is the Energy in a Wave, or a Sound Wave
The period is the time interval between each oscillating variable, or each particle or whatever we want to call them, returning to any particular state following a full wave cycle. So imagine a water molecule on the surface of the ocean or upon the wherever. The vibration comes along, so it starts going up and then it reaches its maximum,. That's the top of the amplitude. And then it starts going down again. Next period: The shorter the period, essentially the more rapidly the wave is traveling.
