The Third Strategy Is to Ignore the Danger

We can intentionally replace that pattern of negativity with saying, Oh yeah, I, they really blew it on that one. So we've already now expanded our options and learned that there's flexibility in the mind. We need to be very skillful to simply withdraw our attention from certain patterns. But even after we've done these three things, we might find that that thought pattern just keeps coming back again and again. They still produced a foundation of understanding. And that allows us to then investigate the pattern from the perspective of greater dispassion.
