Everything we do and don't say is us communicating our boundaries. When you said your name, you were communicating the boundary. And so it has to be upheld from your end as well. Gooding, efforting, avoiding, saving, and suffering are all adaptive behaviors for a little child. They're strategies that we develop when we're little and then never really grow out of.
