The Language of Anxiety
When we talk about worry and people define anxiety technically as the physical responses you have when this system is fired off, not because it's a fear response. It doesn't really matter to me what the thing is that you are getting anxious about. It's how you deal with that thing on the inside. You see a tarantula walking across your pillow and you freak out. That is a totally appropriate response. When we are worried, that's the cognitive process where we are up in our prefrontal cortex and we are creating a narrative in our head about how something is going to go.
