The Language of Anxiety
When we talk about worry and people define anxiety technically as the physical responses you have when this system is fired off, not because it's a fear response. It doesn't really matter to me what the thing is that you are getting anxious about. It's how you deal with that thing on the inside. You see a tarantula walking across your pillow and you freak out. That is a totally appropriate response. When we are worried, that's the cognitive process where we are up in our prefrontal cortex and we are creating a narrative in our head about how something is going to go. And then that goes ahead and sets off our flight or flight system. So those are sort of the way
