The Effects of Exercise on Muscle Growth
Growth factors are stimulated by, for instance, a drop in the oxygen pressures. We produce metabolites at a lower rate than before training. And we are able to remove those that are produced at a higher rate. The body then compensates to then avoid that breakdown continuing and therefore you get stronger. So there's this continuous breakdown of breakdown compensation, as it were.
