Stress is when the demands that are placed upon us exceed our ability to cope. It's a demand being placed on you that requires a response. Sometimes it's emotional, sometimes it's physical, anything that requires us. The amount of stress that they're carrying is completely within their capacity to hold it but they are still experiencing a level of stress. But if I get on the bike and start riding up a big hill, now I'm putting a lot of stress on my legs. And I reckon that's a really useful metaphor for life,. Whether it's at work or at home, we all are carrying stresses.
