Is the Lottery a Symbol of a Maritocracy?

i think our belief in lottery is a, is so imeanis, it's ideological itis, so pervasive. Many people would be against if that same amount of money just went to everybody for health care or for universal education. So there's this idea within this maritocracy, or this meritis, like, Like, well, you deserve that. It's fascinating that a world constructed around maritocracy has this utter investment in lottery - which has least to do with merit.
