Is Product Marketing the Steward of Pricing?
I think product marketing should be the leader of that committee and have decision-making authority. I'm open to the idea that product management can open pricing as well. Pricing ends up being item number 53 on the priority list, and it doesn't get the attention and the rigor that is necessary. And so PMM should own positioning as an example, right? A Rolex of $20 is not a Rolex, right? It has nothing to do with how we are in this position to price our products.
