Is San Bankman Freed an Idiot?

A lot of people were like, yeah, sure, we'll buy a bunch of Bitcoin. But actually it turns out you have zero Bitcoin. So I heard somebody was telling me that this is an example of people were being ridiculously irrational here. It seems to me that the people who lost money in FTX were making perfectly sane decisions.
