How Do You Train Your Athletes to Pattern a Long Stride?
The way the body works is like every time you do a cyclical movement, think about it. It's this cycling of muscle fibers. We want to change gate to essentially change the muscle fiber or motor sequencing that happens so that then we can have rested or more rested fibers recruiting and contracting very high velocities. So in four strides on one side, you can track four different pools for each stride. All of a sudden, why the strides look different every stride? But now they're way more accurate because you gave more rest to the motor pool with every stride versus when you only had four.
