The Fear of Disobedience
There was so much fear because there is so much preach from the pulpit to doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith. There's this fear that if you start to read these things, Satan will get a hold of you and you will be led by him. Basically, you'll be led out of the church and you will live a miserable life. For me, looking at anything that was not church positive or promoting was very scary. And I don't know, I did a little bit and I was like, oh, this is really good information. How come I didn't know this? Oh, I need a little bit more. Oh, I've been lied to."
