The Politics of Zionism in the First World War
In 18 96, jabetinski and the revisionists were mostly political zionists. They wanted one of these great powers to help them get their hands on an arab country whose inhabitants were never really consulted about it. It's not a particularly odd request, youknow, for britain or the ottoman empire, whoever it is, to help you take possession of some piece of territory that happens to have some native population on it. This is the kind of idea they had mind. But as early as the first world war, you can already start to see how they approached the idea a little bit differently than herzel had in mind.
