Is There Any Kind of Motivation?

We have this false idea about intrinsic versus extrinsic motivation. We think, ence we give every a participation trophy, that somehow were levelling the playing field and then all the kids will be motivated. It doesn't seem to me that that's how motivation works. And when we give out trophies for hard work, we're just teaching kids like yo, with hard work, then eventually kind of become intrinsically motivated. Or the kid who doesn't do as well might then have more motivation to say, ya, i can do better next time. I've always liked the for me, it's always felt good when i've it's always about myself. But if i have no expectations
