The Effects of Blood on the BUN

In experiments, blood was either ingested or otherwise inserted into the stomach. Most of these seem to increase the BUN, particularly in a dose-dependent fashion as more blood is administered. After colonic administration, they saw no rise whatsoever. That really does seem to support the idea that the increase in BUN to creatase is a phenomenon of upper gi-g leading.
