Many of us high achievers put off gratification for the bigger reward. The addiction to that validation becomes stronger and stronger, she says. "You don't need to be looking to others for the pad on the back or the gold star at the top of your paper" She suggests spending 70% of your time doing things you enjoy in order to refill your tank.
