The Relative Intensity Effects of Weightlifting

The relative point I think is interesting because it's how much you can in a certain way almost push someone to progressively load themselves depends on their relative perceived exertion. We use a 20 point work scale and we had determined that 15 to 18 on that scale is about 80 percent of their peak strength so that's what we do every day is test where they're at and if it's below 15 we go up on the weight which happens quite quickly during the initial training phases. The amount of intensity is also related to changes in depression so low intensity weightlifting doesn't treat depression but high intensity does same thing with cognition.
