Hypernatremia in the ICU?

In the ICU, patients are really dependent on the intensive care team to play hypothalamus and kind of regulate their sodium for them. Some groups are using sodium hypernatremia as a marker of quality in ICUs. So if you want to be working in a good ICU, pay attention to their sodium every morning to make sure you correct it. And Joel, I wanted to just bring up before, because with the labs here, should people be sending plasma and urine aisms as well? Is that necessary? Was there any other tests you would have sent along with this?
