There's no real reliance on any kind of global state. You can just plug it into any kind of program that works. Small actually plays really well with Tokyo. If you're introducing small into a Tokyo program, let's say you want to use the hyper request crate or something like that. There's an async IO thread that acts as a fallback if no threads are currently polling theync IO. And I think small is definitely the more friendly one in this relationship because I'm just trying to maintain it.
