strength training is about improving the neur muscular function of the body. Power lifting or olympic weight lifting are very distinct forms of strength training. Someming: For me, personally, there's not really a difference between strength training for performance and longevity over ll. But i do think training for performance on longevity over ll are the same, but i would coach them very differently.
