Is Low LDL Cholesterol a Risk Factor?

One thing that I see come up is, well, I know someone who had low LDL cholesterol and they still had a heart attack. So unless those thresholds of less than 1.8 milli mole per liter are being reached at the rosolerosis can still progress. Someone with an LDL that high will have a higher, faster, rate of progression than someone with an LDL of say 140 or 130. But what we tend to see is the attained level of LDL cholesterol really matters.
