The Left's Political Viability

I think politics really is a kind of high stakes game of competing stories and whoever tells the best story usually wins. And, you know, is there a story about communist revolution that can win in America? No, no, I don't think so. There are limits. Is there a storyabout democratic socialism that can win? I think so. Maybe part of that story involves making some of these radical critiques of capitalism not in order to overturn it but to maybe define the terms of the debate a little bit.
