When did realism come about as a self understood body of thought or work? I mean as you point out the sort of thinking in some respects goes back to Thucydides if not before. How did such a subset of the field that seems so obviously not quite right come to dominate the field in the world? So that's question A and then related question B is how did a version of realism that is neurorealism become popular?
