The Value of Being a Ron Conway
The founder is just one individual caught in their own perspective of the thing they're doing. They can see really clearly that if you have employees that are working for very little cash comp and lots of equity, it's time to let them go. The value of somebody like a Ron Conway is that they're not in it with you. Being a founder is an identity. And walking away from your identity is so incredibly hard.
