So avoidant behaviors that most of us have done at some point in our lives include things like procrastination and putting something off unduly. Even things like excessive rumination can be itself a form of avoidance. And all of this kind of fallws under the big category of what's known as avoidance coping - trying to avoid things that cause a stress rather than address them directly. The question is, is it healthy coping or unhealthy coping?
