"If you want to retain people, don't promote them prematurely," she says. "It's not a good reason to Peter principle, your organization to promote people beyond their level of of competence" She adds: "When you have a bad boss, I mean, people wind up with ulcers ... It's like a real physical harm as well as an emotional harm"
