The Fed's Hiking Cycle
The Fed, when they were implementing the Flexible Average Inflation Targeting Strategy, a big part of that was being able to see nominal rates move higher. So I think that the probability that the Fed cuts down to the zero-lower bound is more limited here. The in a Fed cutting cycle, when we're in more of this mild recession, is closer to 2.5% than it is falling all the way back down to zero.
