The Importance of Efficiency in Creativity

The idea of efficiency as an existential purpose sounds, you know, just so deeply non-human. But what I also think is interesting is that this kind of obsession with efficiency is at least fundamentally opposed to the idea of finding your passion. This like, how could you really create anything of depth and worth if you're always optimizing for efficiency? Like I don't think that's actually possible.
