The Paradox of Commodity Fetishism
As objects become to be personified while humans are objectified, humans are reduced to the status of objects. We would rather bury cars that were never sold or destroy food that wasn't sold than give it to somebody who might needFood. At the end of the day, at a shift at a restaurant, the food is thrown out. Most restaurants is not taken to a food bank or given to people who need food. It's absurd when you think about it. And so the spectacle will emphasize the quantity over quality and it will normalize a perpetual struggle for survival despite having attained the means to supply for all people.
