If you've never butchered an animal, it's going to be shocking for you. I would recommend highly recommend spending at least a year shadowing another butcher at a shop. See if your body can handle it because that's the other thing. Tindenitis is huge. Is it his physical work? Carpal tunnel is huge. If you can't lift 60, 70, 100 pounds, I wouldn't recommend it,. You're going to be bending over skinning when you're doing cattle. Got to be able to drive a trailer. We're working with saws, saws and knives in a small space. It's extremely dangerous and animals are really badly injured.
