The Importance of Empathy in Marital Therapy

If you grew up in the same situation as someone, your actions might be similar to theirs. Your brain also had the same insults from parents who might have been dealing with alcohol abuse or negative self talk patterns. Poor food choices that you were surrounded with as a child led to maybe lack of blood flow as a brain. And so when people struggle in their relationship, somebody should be thinking about their brain when they go to help. It's clearly one of the factors that play into understanding people.
