What's the Point of a Pandemic Detection?

The aim of the programme is to identify which viruses might spill over and cause future pendemics, in the hope that we could do something to prevent it. There's four key classes of experiments that you perform on an animal virus to determine whether it's a good candidate for causing a pandemic inhumans. If you answer those four questions, you'll basically determine which of these ten thousand yet undiscovered viruses actually have major pandemic potential. Wits give me a tiny minority of them.
