Blue light is essentially the light that is emitted from your electronic devices. Your body is naturally wired to produce melatonin, which would eventually help you fall asleep. But if you're staring at these screens, they are emitting this blue light,. So what it's signaling to your body is that it's not nighttime yet and so don't produce the melatonin.
