How Technology Can Aid and Abet Progress in Decision Making
In professional sports we have so much technology now actually being put on the body of athletes. I've been exploring a method called the shadow box method for giving people scenarios, having them make decisions and then comparing what their choices were to those of experts. And we're seeing pretty rapid changes in their skill level. If you start doing those sorts of things, an organization can really boost its expertise. It used to take 10,000 hours to grow a chess grandmaster. That's not true anymore because chess players have access to computer chess games. You're seeing chess grandmasters being grown in less than 10 years,. sometimes as few as five years.
