Finding Your Ground
A flicker in the corner of your eye or a looming object are what you might call hard wired distractors. All animals need to be sensitive to movements in their peripheral vision, it signals the possible presence of predators. The fact that you keep being distracted by a television above the bar reveals your animal ancestry. Sometimes no adjustment is needed, but for an instant there is uncertainty that needs to be resolved,. tended to action that might be needed. And then stepped three, expanding the attention to tak in the whole body, sitting here or standing here, allowing your body to be just as it is - and then allowing the eyes to open, if they've been closed, of fingers and toes
