When I'm on the train, usually I'll do my shorts. When I'm walking, I'll be writing a caption. There's always something that I feel like I have to be doing. And when I was there, like I said, I read digital minimalism. And one thing that really opened my eyes in that was one, Instagram and TikTok and all these platforms are like a slot machine and we are addicts and we are gambling every single day. And we are trying to find that like, you know, that winning streak or sound, whatever it is. And two is we don't always need to be doing everything with our time. You know, we don't need to be doing something at every point of the day. You can go for a walk without listening to a podcast. You know, you can go for a walk without listening to an audio book. You can go for a walk without calling someone. You can just be and be present and absorb all the sounds and the nature and the place that you're in. And I never do that. Yeah. And I think that's

so important as well. There's two modes of thinking, something called focus thinking and something called diffuse thinking and focus thinking is like a spotlight. So, you know, you're working on some of your work on a Instagram caption and your mind is focused on that. And that is how we do most of our work during the day. Obviously, we get into various things. But there's something called diffuse thinking, which is basically when the mind wanders. Like that is when the real kind of powerful creativity happens, which is why if you go for a walk without your phone, even in the shower, is when you're like kind of gently engaging the mind, but not really, that it starts to form these kind of all these problems that you didn't even know you were thinking about, just to kind of take you away in the back of the mind. And so that is actually a really powerful tool that we all have that we're just not using. I think considering so much of the work today as knowledge work is thinking and coming up with ideas, we spend so little time thinking. Most people spend zero time just sitting and thinking and walking and thinking. It's so true. There's this productivity porn, as you said, I've been through it as well, of like, oh my god, I need to get another podcast when I'm walking. And then I really went through a phase of just listening to podcasts whenever I was going anywhere. I was like, I just need to spend some time with my thoughts. And so now nothing I like more than just going for a stroll. Yeah.
