How to Get Your Child to Visualize Shame
With shame, we get them to visualize that part of them. So they might visualize like a tar monster or something like that. And that's still representative of that part of their life. We have them interact with that part of theirs. Reconciliation is so important because it undoes emotional learning. It moves triggers. This is important with attachment wounds, because we can have that triggered in our relationships all the time. Things are being triggered on an implicit level much more than we realize. If memory therapy really was not learned and has yet, well, then another approach might be better. Let's build a new skill using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), for example.
