Steps does not give you a very deep understanding of your own body. A good thing to do when you're rundown might be to go for a long walk. That's a physiologically low impact thing, but it gives you a high number. Let's say you're peeking physically. A great thing to do would be to crush a weightlifting workout or ride a bike. Those are two activities that I actually would give you no steps or practically not.
