Sally Kohn: I love that writing that you have in the book on attention traps. The one that really stuck out to me was the identity trap where we spend a lot of time and attention designing and maintaining our online persona. People experience sunk costs on a larger scale if you start a business and the business is failing. And yet you keep pouring money and time into that business thinking it has to turn around if I put more money into it. It's so hard to pull away from doing that activity because you've already invested so much time and effort into it. This happens with gaming too, people can't stop playing that game because they've already spent so much time moving up levels
