How Has Your Workplace Impacted Women in the Workplace Cycle?
The working world, as we know, was largely built by cis-gendered white men. The culture has definitely been structured in favor of white men who have a typically wife at home. When women try to negotiate, there's often backlash against them because it seems counter-normative from what they should be doing. In our latest work, our new book coming out, the No Club, we look at what we call non-promotable work. This is work that helps the organization but does not advance the career of the person who does it. And these tasks typically fall to women.
