Negotiation - Is There a Real Calm?
I always tried to know my badness going into negotiation. There's a real calm and a piece you have if you know your best alternative. I was negotiating one time with a very tough negotiator who had a reputation for horse trading. He would say 8.75, then we can't do the deal because he'd not done any analysis. So that night I called out another investor and made a deal with him that night. And it also laid the groundwork for what I call serial negotiations.
