The first fix is, look, if you're going to do a long run, make it long enough that it's actually a long run. My daughter's long runs are always, I would say, 90 minutes plus and she's just comfortable. Talking the talk test versus talking all the time may actually create a little bit of a bump in your heart rate at the same power or pace. That's a hack to basically interrogate.
