There are physiological reasons how it could happen. And whether or not it happens in the real world is a different question. These are really, really, really hard studies to do in the lab. So you still don't have 100% confidence in exactly how many calories someone's consuming. But if you are able to control calories, truly control calories, and manipulate carbs and fat and keep protein constant, I think you tend to see pretty similar weight loss on average.
