Sports riots is a thing everywhere. It has its own page on wiop. One of the first sports riots was in estambol, once constantinople. A riot after a chariot race burned down half the city and killed at least 30 thousand people. The population of earth wasn't that high back then. There's much more of a great sense of pressure in things at stake than in what i do. So when you are watching the olympics, please silently congratulate in your head each and every player you see on screen for not buckling under this kind of pressure.
