10.4 million people in the world were diagnosed with tuberculosis in the year 2016. Tuberculosis is a leading cause of death in HIV patients. 40% of all deaths due to HIV are actually due to TB. A million of the new cases that were diagnosed were children, and 250,000 of those deaths were children.
