Brian Greene: I was told in the 1980s that these ideas might be technically valid, but they didn't really apply to anything important. In 1988 he realized all of this and thought, oh my God, all of the tech sector behaves this way. So suddenly this became the base theory or the foundational idea behind launching products in Silicon Valley. It caught on and here in the valley, it was accepted as how the tech sector works differently.
