Meditation Reduces Stress and Reverses Ageing

Studies have been done by Elizabeth Blackburn at UCSF and other collaborators of hers showing not only does meditation buffer the stress the stress that shortens telomeres but it actually can activate the gene that encodes for the enzyme telomerase. That's pretty freaking cool because being able to reactivate telomerase for a short period of time can help to reverse aging in some tissues. In general engaging in mindful meditation promotes healthy stress coping mechanisms it decreases rumination it retards brain aging and biological aging different people prefer different ways of meditating some like to do yoga I'm one of those people some like to chill out in a flotation tank for an hour that's also pretty cool I
