The Effects of Carbohydrates on Fat Oxidation
Even if you had very little carbohydrate for a solid hour, probably, and then you gradually increase it towards the end of the three hours, you still perform equally as well at the end. The reason being that when you start exercising at relatively low intensity, this is happening in like some cycling tracers or some events. You basically, if you start eating a lot of carbohydrates at the start, you basically suppress fat oxidation rates. If you go, delay the carbohydrate feeding, you basically allow the body to utilize fat and then only take use of those ingested carbohydrates when it really matters. But because the intensity from the start was so high, it was like just around the first threshold or even higher
