What Role Did Rosali Play in That Development?
The jury is still out on gozali's legacy, says redon. What we see in the islamic east for many centuries to come was an emergence of a way of doing theology - suffused with avisenas and avisena philosophy. So i think there's two possibilities: One is that a rosali tried to kill philosophy and failed. But i don't think that's very plausible. I think rather what happened is that by being so selective in his criticism of avisena, he picked certain theses that he identifies as heretical but left the rest of the edifice standing.
